Interactive Programs
Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum develops, presents, and interprets a variety of interactive programs that offer participants a hands-on sampling of life in earlier times, while acknowledging the historical contributions of First Nations and religious communities. The Museum aims to provide participants with experiences that will encourage greater awareness, appreciation and understanding of French-Canadian and Métis cultures in Manitoba.
These programs may be experienced at the Museum or brought directly to schools and community settings — participants may visit us, or we can come to them.
Pointillism
30 minutes. (Age 4+)
Learn about the technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Best paired with Treasure Chest or Beading!
$7 + GST / person
Voyageur Games & Historic Sports
60 minutes. (Ages 4+)
Discover what it was like to be a voyageur during your own canoe voyage, relay race style! Also, you will get to play croquet and horse shoes and learn about these traditional games. Takes place outside, offered in late spring, summer and early fall only.

Treasure Chest
30 minutes (Ages 4+)
We bring a collection of different artifacts that can be handled and touched, relating to Manitoba history. Learn about various items we no longer use that used to be essential in life!
$7 + GST / person
Quill Pen Writing
30-45 minutes. (Age 7+).
Write your name or the alphabet using a goose quill and ink, just like kids in school a hundred years ago. This can only be booked alongside another activity.
$7 + GST / person
Fingerweaving
60 minutes. (Ages 8+)
Learn about the Ceinture Fléchée and make a finger woven friendship bracelet.
$7 + GST / person
Embroidery
60 minutes. (Ages 10+)
Learn about the ancient art of embroidery and make a sample to take home.
$7 + GST / person
Flower Beading
90-120 minutes. (Ages 10+)
Learn about the history of Métis flower beadwork!

Special Notes
* Reservation requests must be made at least one week in advance so that we can coordinate the schedule. Once all the details have been entered, you will receive a confirmation sheet by email. This confirmation sheet must be signed and returned in order to finalize your reservation. Several activities can be combined for an additional $1.00 + GST / person for each additional program.
