Vous pouvez signer des contrats et chanter des chansons comme les voyageurs. Amenez vos amis et venez profiter d'un bon moment historique ! \n-- \nCome be a voyageur for the day! On August 3\, various stations will be set up to help guests experience the life of a voyageur! There will also be games including a relay race\, a fur guessing game\, and a paw print matching game\, as well as horseshoe and croquet for the public. You can sign contracts and sing songs just like the voyageurs. Bring your friends and come on down to enjoy some historically good fun!

SUMMARY:Bowl Giving Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Metis Women – 250 Years \n  \n250 individually hand formed\, smoke enhanced\, partially glazed low fire clay bowls \n  \nSeptember 29th\, the bowls will be gifted to 250 individual Indigenous women. In return for the bowl\, women will name an Indigenous woman who they want to recognize and celebrate. Tracy will take the names and they will become woven into a mixed media tapestry that will honour the lives of 250 Metis/Indigenous women and girls. After the ceremony\, there will be Métis dancers and Jingle dress dancers and drummers here to help us on all our individual healing and celebration journey. The ceremony will start around 6 p.m. at the Saint-Boniface Museum at 494 Taché Ave in Winnipeg. We will be present till 8 p.m. for the bowl giving. \nThe bowls which Tracy has made by hand celebrate 250 years the female Metis lineage in her family. These 250 bowls speak to the contributions made by Metis women to the making\, the strengthening and continuance of the Metis Nation. Tracy can trace this history from 1770 to 2020 with the birth of Madelaine Saulteaux and the subsequent seven generations of her grandmothers\, mothers\, aunts\, sisters and cousins and\, of course\, her own mother – Beatrice Nault-Charette. \nThe bowls are a blending of traditional and contemporary hand building and firing techniques. They are inspired by past generations of Indigenous creators and artists. Each bowl symbolizes a Indigenous woman as a carrier/holder of life and of future potential. Some of the bowls have hand carved designs that resemble Metis floral patterns. \nIf you have any questions\, experiences@msbm.mb.ca \n \nTracy Charette Fehr is a mixed media Metis artist who works primarily in thread\, textile and clay. Tracy has deep roots in the Red River Settlement and in St Malo/LaRochelle\, Manitoba. She grew up in the North End of Winnipeg. Her work in thread and clay speaks to the experience of Manitoba Metis people with a special emphasis on the lives and stories of Metis women. \nTracy lives and works in Winnipeg. She has recently completed her MFA at the University of Manitoba. Recent exhibits are: \n\n“Heartbeat of a Nation: Metis Women 250 Years”\, 2021\, Winnipeg Art Gallery.\n“In MY Blood I Stand”\, 2021\, St Boniface Museum.\n“MOTHERLAND”\, School of Art Gallery\, University of Manitoba\, 2022.\n“Monuments: Memories of a Family”\, Mann Gallery in Prince Albert Saskatchewan.\n\n  \nWe would like to thank Tracy for giving us this wonderful opportunity to host such a wonderful ceremony and event.

Nous tiendrons également un atelier de tissage aux doigts. Venez découvrir cette forme d’art\, son histoire et puis essayez-la vous-même !\n\n\n \n\n\nNous serons sur place jusqu’à 17 h.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n🏞️\n\n\n \n\n\nCome visit us today at our booth located @ The Forks for Indigenous Day Live! \n\n\n \n\n\nWe will have an array of local artisan work and Indigenous art for sale\, as well as a variety of specially picked items just for you! We will also be hosting an activity booth about fingerweaving. Come learn about this art form\, the history of it\, and try it out for yourself!\n\n\n \n\n\nWe will be there until 5 p.m.

Vous serez entouré d’artefacts artisanaux et transporté dans une autre époque\, ce qui pourrait aviver vous et votre perlage. \nIl s’agit d’un cercle de perlage gratuit\, vous n’avez pas besoin de réserver une place. Il y aura du café et du thé disponible. \nLorsque vous arrivez au musée\, veuillez informer la réception que vous êtes ici pour le cercle de perlage. \nEn ce qui concerne le stationnement\, nous vous recommandons de vous stationner soit sur av. De La Cathédrale ou sur la rue Despins. You will be surrounded by artisan artifacts and transported to a different era\, which may inspirit you and your beadwork. \nIt is a free drop-in beading circle\, you do not need to reserve a spot. There will be coffee and tea available. \nWhen you arrive at the museum\, please inform the front desk that you are here for the beading circle. \nAs for parking\, we recommend you park on either De La Cathédrale Avenue or Rue Despins.
